Flower will go down as one of the best Penguins of all time. Amazing teammate and in general just a great person. Always smiling and never has a bad word to say.

You guys have a great #1 there. Enjoy him!

McPhee really did a lousy job in that expansion draft

Just look at Emelin, Takes Emelin, trades him to Nashville for a 3rd and retains 1.1 million?

So, basically buying a 3rd for 1.1 million and not taking an otherwise potentially useful player from Montreal

Takes Methot and only gets a 2nd in return?, Why not just take Claesson?, you won't get a better player than Claesson with that 2nd

Takes the 3rd best defensive player from Anaheim and only nets Clayton Stoner for his troubles?

Throws away opportunities in Winnipeg to move up 11 spots and ends up with a UFA Chris Thornburn

Ended up with a bunch of middle and late round picks. Big whoop

for me his worst move from the expansion draft was taking Engelland and not taking someone young, like a Shinkaruk. If you really wanted Engelland (for whatever reason that could be) he was a pending UFA with a likely small market waiting; instead of adding a prospect and the player they apparently wanted, they stayed away from a prospect for free, and aided a division rival. That one made no sense. I also agree with Anaheim, I guess Theodore could end up better than Vatanen, but then Anaheim makes YOU chip in on the deal by taking Stoner? Lol. Wild was odd too. Oh well.
